Aspen Residence

Project Description: This project was a new custom home construction located near Aspen, CO. The home’s primary heating and cooling system was a Ground Source Heat Pump utilizing an array of ground wells. This heat pump feeds an in-floor radiant system supplemented with forced air for heating and cooling. Multiple large air handlers are located in a dedicated mechanical space with a ducted distribution system to distribute air throughout the home. One of the project goals from is to maximize indoor air quality for the Owners who suffer from severe allergy and sinus conditions through the use of HEPA air filtration and humidification systems. Another goal of this design for this residence is to evaluate and utilize ‘Green’ solutions for Mechanical, Power, and Lighting systems to the extent practical. The Electrical design included a new 1200 amp electrical service and emergency backup power generator.
